Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) – An Award-winning catering company, provides exclusive catering services to Qatar Airways and other airlines that service Hamad International Airport.

Job Purpose:
Has the overall responsibility for organization, review and development of the materials control department. To review verify and control all material movement, transactions and reports, including receipt, issuance, usage and wastage, Attain, robust cost controls, pertaining to materials through verification and audit processes utilizing system reports and manual verification, developing a team of employees to drive efficient control measures implementing corrective actions where required

Set up, own and continuously develop material planning processes, create, review and participate in development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Address key raw material processing functions, measuring product yields are in line with purchasing specifications -i.e fruit and vegetables and meat and fish in-house preparation yield expected weights prior to onward cutting, slicing or cooking
Regularly monitor measuring equipment to ensure specification weights are being adhered to
Carry out specific auditing at various points of the production process, example final customer order physically matches the dispatched load ensuring up counts and down counts are actioned accordingly to reduce over boarding of meals
Use the Business Analysts team to support in the development of fresh ideas into functioning IT systems to improve material flow and controls through the facility
Responsible for measuring stock loss cost against theoretical spend
Ensure correct system processes/budget codes are adopted and orders are approved in accordance with company policy. Review and verify all wastage reports and provide feedback to management and stakeholders on trend analysis in order to control cost and budget
Lead investigations as and when necessary on material controls providing conclusions and recommendations to the management team. Analyse material related reports and provide guidance and direction to the Materials team and other stakeholders on actions for improvement and efficiencies
Management & Leadership
Administers time and attendance for all subordinated staff members to ensure optimal manpower with minimal overtime
Ensure log/hand over are maintained to ensure business continuity during shift hand change or annual leave
Plans manpower requirements and approved monthly rosters and annual leaves
Establish the department or team objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery
Personal Development
Tasks responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise
Keep abreast with any market trends and developments
Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways (QR) or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program
Train Qatari staff in various duties as per business requirements
Operational Safety
Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work, health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security legislative compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude
Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate supervision in their workplaces
Environmental Competencies
Contribute towards Qatar Airways Group Environmental Objectives and targets and the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System
Apply environmental knowledge and principles in your role, and incorporate this into business processes and decision making, to drive efficiencies and reduce environmental and operational risks

Qualifications , Experience & Skills:
Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level or equivalent
Previous Experience
Minimum 7 years relevant experience
Materials management experience

Job Specific Skills
Knowledge of Food Safety Management
Ability to understand complex vendor contracts and develop own specifications to meet operational and financial requirements
